The number of electric vehicle models in the United States market will double by 2024

The electric vehicle market in the United States is expected to continue to increase in the next few years. That way, consumers in the country will have more choices of electric vehicle models.

According to a Visual Capitalist report, it is estimated that there will be 134 electric vehicle models that will be sold in the United States automotive market in 2024. The number is in fact more than twice what is currently available.

In the report, it is stated that the wave of electric vehicles is still dominated by older manufacturers. It is known that Tesla is still the most widely used electric vehicle in the United States.

However, there are also some companies that are just entering the EV market for the first time. The emergence of this new manufacturer could also provide greater competition for Tesla in the electric vehicle industry.

The same report also states that the interest of the United States population will be greater in the next few years. Even in a recent survey by Morning Consult, the majority of adults in the country are very or likely to buy an electric car over the next decade. As of now, there are 51 percent who will be interested in EV.

Not only in the United States, increasing interest in electric vehicles also occurs in Europe. This was proven when the Tesla Model 3 electric car was included in the list of 20 best-selling cars in the blue continent throughout 2021.

The data is reported directly by the research company JATO Dynamics, where this type of electric vehicle is in 17th place. The Tesla Model 3 was the only electric car that was included in the list of the 50 best-selling cars in the European automotive market last year. As of now, 141,429 units of this type of electric vehicle have been sold.

The record in fact experienced an increase of up to 64 percent compared to the previous year. As additional information, the Tesla Model 3 electric car is known to only be able to sell as many as 85,713 units throughout 2020.
