2022 Kia EV6 officially arrives in Australia, will sell start from AU$67,990

The 2022 Kia EV6 has officially arrives in Australia and will be sold in three different model variants.

The Kia EV6 uses the Hyundai Global-Electric Modular Platform which is also used by the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Genesis GV60. This platform has proven itself in the market as a very impressive EV platform.

A total of three Kia EV6 models will be marketed in Australia. The first model is the Kia EV6 Air RWD which has a single electric motor driving the rear wheels with 225 hp (168 kW) and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque. The model uses a 77.4 kWh battery pack and can cover a distance of 528 km (328 miles) on a single charge. For a speed of 0-100 km / h (62 mph) takes 7.3 seconds. Pricing for the Kia EV6 Air RWD starts at AU$67,990 ($48,768).

The second model variant is the EV6 GT-Line which is an RWD variant with the same powertrain as the Air RWD but comes with 20-inch wheels that reduce its range to 504 km (313 miles). Pricing for the EV6 GT-Line RWD starts at AU$74,990 ($53,789).

The final model variant is the EV6 GT-Line AWD, which is equipped with a pair of electric motors that can produce 320 hp (239 kW) and 446 lb-ft (605 Nm) of torque. This model has the ability to accelerate from 0-100 km / h in 5.2 seconds. The range for this model is 484 km (300 miles). Pricing for this variant starts at AU$82,990 ($59,528).

Another model, the more performance-focused EV6 eGT, will launch later this year or early 2023.
