The Mobility House has agreed to sell its commercial charging infrastructure and energy management business, The Mobility House Solutions, to mobility services provider Edenred as part of a strategic shift toward vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology, energy trading and flexibility market services.
The companies expect the transaction to close in the third quarter of 2026, although financial terms were not disclosed.
The move marks a significant milestone in The Mobility House’s ongoing restructuring efforts, which began in 2024 with the creation of four specialized business units aimed at improving responsiveness to evolving market conditions.
Strategic Refocus on Energy Markets
The Munich-based company said the divestment will allow it to concentrate on areas where it sees the greatest long-term growth potential, including V2G technology, flexibility monetization and participation in electricity markets.
The Mobility House believes its core expertise lies in connecting electric vehicle charging demand with renewable energy availability and transforming fleet batteries into valuable grid assets.
As renewable energy deployment accelerates, the company sees increasing opportunities to generate value through smart charging, grid balancing services and energy market optimization.
Herbert Diess, former CEO of Volkswagen and Chairman of The Mobility House Supervisory Board, said strategic focus is essential for maintaining a competitive advantage.
“Focus and a clear, rapidly scalable business model, aligned with the entire team, are essential prerequisites for a startup like The Mobility House to further expand its technological leadership, particularly in V2G with electric vehicles, and to create value.”
“Our goal is to supply households and cars with unimaginably low-cost energy as the next-generation energy provider. Focus is indispensable for this.”
Edenred Expands EV Charging Capabilities
The Mobility House Solutions specializes in fleet electrification, charging infrastructure deployment and energy management systems for commercial customers.
The division currently serves around 5,000 customers and manages more than 2,500 active fleet depots across its portfolio.
Under the agreement, the business will operate as Edenred e-Mobility GmbH while retaining both the The Mobility House Solutions and ChargePilot brands.
ChargePilot, the company’s flagship charging and energy management platform, is also included in the transaction. However, The Mobility House will retain ChargePilot rights in North America and the Asia-Pacific region.
Diane Coliche, Global Chief Operating Officer for Mobility at Edenred, said the acquisition strengthens the company’s position in the growing fleet electrification market.
“The acquisition of TMH Solutions significantly strengthens our position in the electromobility market for B2B clients, particularly in supporting charging needs, with additional delivery capabilities at workplaces and depots.”
“It enables Edenred to expand its presence across the electromobility value chain and to fully address B2B fleet managers’ needs in the electrification of their fleets.”
Business Continuity for Customers
The companies emphasized that existing customer agreements, employee contracts and operational activities will continue without disruption following the transaction.
The existing team of approximately 60 employees will remain in place and continue operating from The Mobility House’s Munich headquarters.
Meanwhile, The Mobility House Charging division, which supplies charging solutions and wallbox products to residential customers and distribution partners, will remain part of the company alongside its Energy and North America businesses.
Growing Importance of Vehicle-to-Grid
The sale reflects broader changes taking place within the electric mobility sector as companies increasingly focus on software, energy management and grid services rather than hardware deployment alone.
By concentrating resources on V2G technology and flexibility markets, The Mobility House aims to position itself as a next-generation energy provider capable of leveraging millions of connected electric vehicle batteries to support grid stability and renewable energy integration.
Chief Executive Officer and founder Thomas Raffeiner said the transaction creates opportunities for both organizations.
“I am incredibly proud of our team, who built The Mobility House Solutions into a leading provider of fleet charging and energy management systems.”
“Together with Edenred’s unmatched scale and commercial reach, our competence and technology will take this business to the next level across Europe.”
The partnership will continue beyond the acquisition, with The Mobility House Energy expected to collaborate commercially with Edenred to help fleet operators transform electric vehicles into flexible energy assets capable of participating in electricity markets.
