Tesla has introduced a new feature in its mobile app, enhancing charging options for non-Tesla electric vehicles (EVs). The update, version 4.35.1, was first noticed earlier this week.
The new feature, highlighted by Not a Tesla App, combines availability and distance sort options into a single dropdown menu and allows users to filter charger locations by power levels, either 0-70kW or 71-250kW.

Tesla regularly updates its mobile app software, adding new features or refining existing ones. Recently, version 4.35.0 introduced a feature to avoid waking the vehicle when using the app, helping to conserve battery life.
In a recent evaluation by J.D. Power, the Tesla mobile app was named the best among original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), scoring 847 on a 1,000-point scale. The top five also included Mercedes me connect (843), My BMW (834), Genesis Intelligent Assistant (833), and My Porsche (800). Apps from Subaru, VinFast, Volkswagen, and Chevy ranked lower on the list.

In April, Tesla launched demos for its Powerwall and home energy systems within the mobile app, allowing users without Tesla’s solar and battery products to explore the ecosystem. This feature is accessible to all users, including those without a Tesla or other EV, by selecting “Continue as Guest.”
During the same month, Tesla provided a preview of the app’s design for its upcoming Robotaxi ride-sharing platform. Although initially planned for an August unveiling, CEO Elon Musk recently confirmed that the launch event has been delayed.
