Tesla has officially introduced its Full Self-Driving (FSD) subscription option in Canada, following an announcement last month that the service would soon be available in the country. The move comes after Tesla’s Vice President of Public Policy and Business Development, Rohan Patel, confirmed that CEO Elon Musk had approved the rollout of FSD subscriptions in Canada.
The FSD subscription is now available in Canada for $99 CAD per month, mirroring the price cut in the United States. Tesla reduced the monthly price of FSD (Supervised) to $99 in the U.S. as part of its efforts to expand the availability of the FSD feature.
Tesla has been actively promoting the adoption of FSD, offering a one-month free trial of the feature to new buyers for the first time. The company also recently dropped the “Beta” designation from the FSD software with version 12, signaling its confidence in the technology.

In addition to the FSD subscription launch, Tesla has resumed FSD transfers, allowing vehicle owners to switch the software to a different vehicle at no cost.
Despite recent reports suggesting otherwise, Tesla has reaffirmed its commitment to developing an affordable, mass-market electric vehicle (EV). CEO Elon Musk denied reports that Tesla was canceling its affordable EV platform, stating that “Reuters is lying (again).” Chief Designer Franz von Holzhausen also cautioned against believing such reports, advising the public to “just don’t always believe what you read.”
Some Tesla shareholders have speculated that the upcoming robotaxi platform could be based on the same platform as the rumored $25,000 EV. Musk hinted at this possibility with a cryptic response featuring just an eyes emoji.
The mass-market EV is expected to be initially produced at Tesla’s Gigafactory Texas, with production later expanding to a new factory in Mexico. Musk has also indicated that Tesla’s Giga Berlin will eventually manufacture the affordable vehicle, following production at Gigafactory Texas and Gigafactory Mexico.
