Tesla has launched the Model Y Performance in Australia and New Zealand, with first deliveries scheduled for late in the fourth quarter of 2025. Pricing starts from A$89,400 ($58,000) before government charges in Australia and NZ$100,900 ($61,000) before on-road costs in New Zealand.
Vehicles for both markets will be produced at Tesla’s Gigafactory in Berlin-Brandenburg, Germany. In Australia, the Model Y Performance is priced below the luxury car tax threshold, making it eligible for the government’s fringe benefits tax exemption on electric vehicles purchased under a novated lease.
The Performance variant follows updated RWD and AWD versions introduced earlier in 2025, adding revised styling and hardware changes. Exterior updates include a redesigned front and rear fascia, a carbon fibre rear spoiler, 21-inch Arachnid 2.0 forged wheels, red brake calipers, and model-specific badging. The cabin features carbon fibre trim, new sports seats with heating and ventilation, and a larger 16-inch central touchscreen.
The dual-motor system delivers 343 kW, enabling 0–100 km/h acceleration in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h. A higher-density battery pack supports an estimated 580 km WLTP range. The chassis receives upgraded springs, stabiliser bars, and bushings, alongside adaptive suspension with Standard, Sport, and Track settings that can be customised through the central display.
Tesla will offer the Model Y Performance in five colours: Pearl White Multi-Coat, Quicksilver, Ultra Red, Diamond Black, and Stealth Grey.
