Stellantis has filed for exclusive rights to the Fulvia name in a recent trademark application at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), sparking speculation about the revival of the iconic Lancia model. While the filing doesn’t confirm any specific plans, it adds to the excitement surrounding Lancia’s resurgence. Known for its rich rallying history, the brand has been gaining attention, especially among a new generation of enthusiasts captivated by Group B rally videos circulating on TikTok and Instagram Reels.
Lancia’s revival appears to be gathering momentum under Stellantis’ leadership. The brand has received a renewed focus, with design firms creating tributes to its heritage and the new Lancia Ypsilon incorporating recognizable styling cues.

Lancia is also preparing for a major product push, with a premium Gamma crossover debuting later this year, and a fully electric, high-performance Delta hatchback slated for release by 2028. These developments suggest that Lancia’s storied past may have a bright future, with the Fulvia name possibly being applied to a new, electrified model.
Although it’s unlikely that Lancia will develop a dedicated sedan in the style of the original Fulvia, which was produced from 1963 to 1976, the name could potentially be used for a smaller crossover. Stellantis’ focus on electric and electrified vehicles could see the Fulvia name applied to an eco-friendly model in line with the brand’s current direction.

This would be a significant shift, as Lancia’s past glory in rallying didn’t necessarily translate into sustained sales success. Despite winning numerous World Rally Championship titles, the brand’s models struggled in the marketplace, and Lancia withdrew from international markets, leaving only the Ypsilon available for sale in Italy by 2021.
The new trademark filing, which was initially reported by the Dutch-language AutoWeek blog, is a reminder of Lancia’s potential for a revival that fans have been hoping for decades. With Stellantis’ ongoing efforts to revitalize the brand, a new electric Fulvia could serve as an exciting step in its future, combining the brand’s rally heritage with modern innovation.
