Stellantis is set to begin production of the Citroën ë-C3 electric vehicle (EV) in Kragujevac, Serbia, alongside its primary manufacturing site in Trnava, Slovakia, according to Serbian media reports citing trade union sources.
Saša Đorđević, head of the Kragujevac branch of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Serbia (SSSS), said the plant is already supplying parts for the ë-C3 to Trnava and is expected to assemble the model later this year. “This is good news for employees in Kragujevac,” Đorđević said, adding that production would be carried out in cooperation with the Slovakian facility.
However, Kragujevac’s output is expected to serve as overflow production. “Our main model will be the Fiat Grande Panda, but if Trnava faces high demand and exceeds capacity, we will take on some ë-C3 production,” Đorđević said, without specifying volumes.
Both the ë-C3 and Grande Panda are built on Stellantis’ CMP Smart Car platform for affordable EVs. Despite differences in size, both models feature a 44 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery from supplier SVOLT, an 83 kW electric motor, and a WLTP range of around 320 km. The ë-C3 starts at €23,300 in Germany (£21,990 in the UK), while the Grande Panda is priced from €24,990 (£20,975).
