Solaris Unveils New Urbino 18 Electric Bus at Elekbu Trade Fair

Solaris, a leading European manufacturer of e-buses, is set to showcase its latest addition to its green transport offering at the 14th edition of the Elekbu trade fair. The Urbino 18 electric bus, equipped with two drive axles and Solaris High Energy batteries with a capacity of over 550 kWh, will be presented at Solaris’s stand.

The Elekbu trade fair, Germany’s largest conference and exhibition of e-buses, aims to address key issues facing the e-mobility sector and public transport. This year’s edition will focus on how to achieve climate protection goals through innovative solutions and transforming transport to become more sustainable.

Solaris has been committed to environmentally-friendly public transport since its inception, continuously expanding its e-mobility range to meet the needs of various towns and cities. The manufacturer offers zero-emission e-buses, hydrogen buses, and trolleybuses in various lengths and with a wide range of components. With nearly 1800 e-buses delivered to clients in the last 10 years, Solaris is the leading European manufacturer in this respect, and another 650 electric buses are currently being manufactured. Solaris is also a leader in applying hydrogen technology in public transport, with over 100 hydrogen buses already deployed in various European countries.

The new addition to Solaris’s range, the articulated Urbino 18 electric bus, is designed to provide even better operability and performance for demanding routes and when driving uphill. The bus is equipped with four 125 kW motors, mounted in both drive axles, and batteries that can be charged either via plug-in or a pantograph.

The articulated Solaris Urbino 12 electric buses will fit up to 40 normal seats plus 2 folding ones, including 16 accessible from a low floor. With its commitment to green transport and innovative solutions, Solaris is driving the transformation of public transport towards sustainability.
