SK E&S has just announced that it has acquired EverCharge, a startup focused on charging electric vehicles in the US. In the company’s release, there was no mention of the value of the acquisition.
SK E&S, part of the SK Group has traditionally been a natural gas provider before expanding their business to renewable energy.
Founded in 2013, EverCharge is an electric vehicle charging solutions provider that manufactures charging equipment and also operates charging stations. Currently EverCharge operates approximately 4,600 charging stations across North America.
This acquisition will help SK E&S respond to the rapidly growing electric vehicle charging market in the US. Electric vehicles are indeed developing, some old brands have announced their commitment to only producing electric vehicles for the next few years.
SK E&S will invest $400 million in its US subsidiary to help fund acquisitions and other investments in energy solutions.
