Parisian waste management company Sepur is utilizing a fleet of 18 Renault Trucks electric refuse trucks for the collection of household waste in the 13th arrondissement. These E-Tech D Wide trucks, equipped with Semat tipper bodies, are capable of traveling up to 90 km on a single charge.

The deployment of these vehicles has now made waste collection in the 13th arrondissement entirely electric. The E-Tech D Wide, optimized for waste transport, can reach a maximum range of 120 km and has a maximum output of 370 kW. Renault Trucks aims to achieve a 50% sales margin for electric vehicles by 2030 and to sell only fossil fuel-free vehicles by 2040.

Sepur, the second largest waste collection and municipal services company in the French capital region, has been working towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions by converting their fleet to electric vehicles. The company aims to eliminate diesel-powered vehicles from all their collections by 2025.

The deployment of the electric refuse collection vehicles has saved time in the operational process by eliminating the need for regular stops at filling stations, as the vehicles are charged overnight at the depot.

CEO Youri Ivanov states that Sepur’s goal is to offer local authorities the most sustainable transport possible, and that more electric waste vehicles have already been ordered with plans to electrify three more business areas in the capital region.

The company, based in Thiverval-Grignon, employs around 2,500 people in 40 branches and has a fleet of about 2,000 vehicles, half of which are refuse collection vehicles.
