Rivian’s upcoming 2026 R1T Quad-Motor pickup has made an early and unexpected public appearance following a now-deleted social media video, revealing the first look at the automaker’s use of Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS) port.
The brief footage, shared by tech reviewer Marques Brownlee before being removed, showed the R1T Quad equipped with a native NACS port, confirming Rivian’s shift away from adapter-based charging. The move marks Rivian’s first production vehicle to integrate Tesla’s charging system directly, enabling seamless access to the Supercharger network.

Rivian had previously announced plans in June 2023 to transition all R1 models to NACS starting in 2025, aligning with broader industry adoption of the Tesla-developed charging standard.
In addition to the charging update, the R1T Quad was shown in a distinctive Launch Green exterior with teal accents and unique “Quad” badging. Design features included 22-inch performance wheels, customized brake calipers, and a refreshed Gear Guard Gary emblem, pointing to the brand’s continued emphasis on personality and performance.
The Quad-Motor configuration—returning from earlier R1T models—is expected to enhance off-road capabilities and torque vectoring. While full specifications have not been released, the 2026 R1T Quad is likely to include Rivian’s latest hardware and software updates, including improvements seen in newer dual-motor and Max Pack variants.
The appearance of the video in early June suggests an official reveal may follow later this month or in early July. Rivian is expected to ramp up production of the new Quad model later in 2025, just ahead of the company’s R2 platform rollout in 2026.
