Rad Power Bikes has introduced the RadWagon 5, the fifth generation of its electric cargo bike lineup. The new model arrives as the company continues to adjust its operations, bringing hardware updates focused on range, braking, and onboard electronics.
The RadWagon 5 is built around an aluminum frame rated for a maximum payload of 375 lbs (170 kg). It features a full-suspension setup for a cargo e-bike, including an RST Guide front fork with 45 mm of travel, aimed at improving comfort on uneven urban roads. Braking is handled by Tektro hydraulic disc brakes, an upgrade over earlier generations.
Power comes from a 750 W rear hub motor delivering up to 90 Nm of torque, enabling pedal-assisted speeds of up to 28 mph (45 km/h), depending on regional regulations. Energy is supplied by a 720 Wh battery using cells from Samsung, with Rad Power Bikes estimating a maximum range of up to 60 miles (96.5 km) per charge. The UL-certified battery includes thermal protection features designed to reduce overheating risks.
The seven-speed cargo e-bike includes an LCD display showing speed, battery status, distance, pedal-assist level, and estimated remaining range. Smart features include a 450-lumen front headlight with automatic activation, turn signals, passcode protection, and a USB-C port for device charging.
The RadWagon 5 is available in metallic blue and black and is priced at $2,399. The model is now on sale through Rad Power Bikes’ official website.
