Malaysia’s national postal and parcel service provider, Pos Malaysia, has expanded its electric vehicle fleet to 1,585 units, with EVs now accounting for about one-third of its delivery operations across the country.
The company said electric vehicles are now used for around 33% of its parcel deliveries in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak, up from about 20% last year. Pos Malaysia aims to electrify its entire fleet of first- and last-mile delivery vehicles by 2030.
Electric Fleet Reaches 1,585 Vehicles
The fleet expansion includes 1,253 electric two-wheelers and 332 electric vans, making Pos Malaysia the operator of Malaysia’s largest EV fleet in the logistics sector.
Most of the company’s electric two-wheelers are Modenas MEV-1 Pro scooters, which have a claimed range of 135 kilometres. Pos Malaysia announced its largest EV purchase in November 2024, when its fleet consisted of 220 electric two-wheelers and 143 electric vans.
That purchase included 1,092 Modenas MEV-1 Pro scooters, which have since been deployed in delivery operations.
Electric Vans Expand Across the Fleet
Pos Malaysia began adding electric vans in 2023, sourcing 143 CAM EC35 vans from drivEV, the Malaysian EV leasing company operated by Yinson GreenTech. The CAM EC35, a rebadged DFSK EC35, has a WLTP range of 266 kilometres.
In September 2025, Pos Malaysia leased 136 Maxus eDeliver 3 vans from drivEV. The model has a WLTP range of 227 kilometres.
The company subsequently ordered 246 Maxus eDeliver 5 vans earlier this year. The model offers a WLTP range of 335 kilometres. Pos Malaysia received the first batch in July, with Chief Operating Officer Zaini Yahman saying the order would expand the company’s electric van fleet to 525 units during 2026.
Fleet Electrification Supports Emissions Reduction
Pos Malaysia said its electrification programme was recently highlighted in a sustainability impact case study by the United Nations Global Compact Network Malaysia, Brunei and Cambodia.
Since fiscal 2023, the company’s electric fleet has travelled 28.8 million kilometres. Pos Malaysia said that distance is equivalent to travelling around the world approximately 719 times and has helped avoid 3,881 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
“At Pos Malaysia, fleet electrification is a key part of our sustainability and decarbonisation journey. Today, we operate Malaysia’s largest electric fleet, delivering mail and parcels across the country,” said Pos Malaysia Group CEO Charles Brewer.
The company plans to continue expanding its electric fleet as part of its broader 2030 target, with first- and last-mile delivery vehicles expected to transition entirely to electric models.
