Hawaiian Airlines has deployed 116 battery-electric ground support vehicles at Honolulu Airport, significantly expanding its use of zero-emission equipment and increasing the share of electric vehicles in its local ground support fleet to 73%. The fleet expansion forms part of the airline’s broader sustainability strategy and is supported by new charging infrastructure installed by the Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation (HDOT). The newly deployed equipment is used to support approximately 180 daily aircraft arrivals and departures at Honolulu Airport and helps handle more than 8,500 checked bags each day. Amazon has surpassed 50,000 electric delivery vans operating across its global logistics network, reaching the halfway mark toward its target of deploying 100,000 electric delivery vehicles by 2030. The company said the fleet delivered more than 2.4 billion packages worldwide during the past year without producing tailpipe emissions, marking a significant milestone in its broader effort to reduce transportation-related carbon emissions. The expansion forms part of The Climate Pledge, the net-zero carbon initiative co-founded by Amazon in 2019, which aims to achieve net-zero emissions across the company’s operations by 2040. Zum and the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) have announced the deployment of what they describe as the largest electric school bus fleet in the United States, combining battery-electric transportation with vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology. The initiative will ultimately include 238 electric school buses equipped with bidirectional charging capability, allowing the vehicles not only to transport students but also to supply electricity back to the grid during periods of peak demand. The first phase of the rollout is scheduled to begin in August 2026, when 104 electric school buses enter service across the district. Zum and SFUSD plan to expand…
Karma Automotive has launched an on-demand mobility pilot in Las Vegas, offering access to its Karma Revero through a new program called “Engage by Karma.” The initiative places a fleet of Revero extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs) at a five-star resort, where select guests can request vehicles on demand with white-glove delivery. The pilot will run through summer 2026, with potential expansion depending on customer demand and operational performance. Fleet operations are supported by Flexdrive, an independently managed subsidiary of Lyft. The platform provides real-time vehicle tracking, movement monitoring, and fleet optimization tools. “Karma Automotive’s commitment to delivering a strong experience…
Workhorse Group Inc. has launched a limited-time price reduction programme for its W56 electric step van, offering discounts of up to $61,000 as commercial fleets face rising fuel costs. The promotion runs from April 1 through September 30, 2026. Under the revised pricing, the 210 kWh W56 starts at $196,000 for the standard wheelbase version and $204,000 for the extended configuration. The company said the price cuts are supported by reduced production costs following its December 2025 merger with Motiv Electric Trucks, allowing it to pass on efficiencies to customers. Workhorse said the W56 platform can deliver operating cost savings…
Danish logistics company DFDS has ordered six battery-electric terminal tractors from MOL and Volvo Penta as part of its strategy to gradually replace its fleet of 280 diesel-powered vehicles. The order builds on a collaboration between the three companies that began in 2021 to develop what they described as the first operational electric 4×4 RoRo terminal tractor. A prototype was delivered in 2024 to DFDS’s terminal in Ghent, Belgium, where it has been used in daily operations for over a year. “The MOL and Volvo Penta engineering teams asked us exactly what we wanted, they delivered it, and then asked…
Officials in Ljubljana have signed a 20-year agreement with mobility provider Avant Car to roll out a public electric vehicle rental and car-sharing service, expanding on a previous pilot programme. Under the agreement, the city will invest €11.4 million, largely allocated to the development of 400 dedicated parking spaces for shared electric vehicles. Avant Car will contribute €18.7 million, including €6.2 million in the first year, to support the deployment and operation of the service. In a statement, city officials said: “Within the City of Ljubljana, we will establish 400 parking spaces for car-sharing, 400 electric vehicles, and 160 charging…
Electric company fleets are becoming increasingly common across Europe, with more than half of businesses planning to expand their battery-electric vehicle (BEV) adoption within the next two years, according to a new study by DKV Mobility. The 15-page report, titled “E-mobility in companies: Where Europe stands – and what is slowing down expansion,” is based on a survey of 1,732 fleet managers across eight European markets, conducted by Innofact AG in November 2025. “Our report clearly shows that electrification in European companies is accelerating. At the same time, it becomes evident that transforming corporate fleets remains a complex strategic task…
UK-based logistics provider Maritime Transport said it has deployed 19 battery-electric trucks at its Wakefield and Birmingham sites, as part of plans to expand its fleet to 56 vehicles across 13 depots and rail terminals by the end of the year. The newly delivered units include models from Volvo Trucks, Mercedes-Benz Trucks and DAF Trucks. Maritime said the vehicles are expected to achieve ranges of between 300 and 500 kilometres per charge depending on duty cycles, making them suitable for a range of regional operations. To support the rollout, the company is developing what it described as one of the…
The Arval Mobility Observatory has reported that fleet managers in Germany expect stable development in vehicle fleets over the coming years, alongside continued growth in electric vehicle adoption, according to its latest Fleet and Mobility Barometer. The study, based on a global survey of 10,157 decision-makers across 33 countries—including 300 in Germany—found that 92% of German companies anticipate stable or increasing fleet sizes over the next three years. However, most expect fleet volumes to remain unchanged, with only 15% forecasting growth. Arval said this trend has been consistent in recent years and is broadly in line with the European average.…
