Polestar has officially launched sales of its Polestar 4 crossover SUV in the United States, offering the all-electric model as a 2026 edition with assembly now shifted to Busan, South Korea. The company announced on Thursday that U.S. customers can configure and place orders for the vehicle online, with deliveries expected to begin later this year.
Originally unveiled in 2023, the Polestar 4 entered production in China and was later delivered to customers in Europe and Australia in 2024. While initial plans called for North American models to be built in China and arrive as 2025 models, the automaker faced delays tied to management changes and evolving U.S. trade policy. As a result, Polestar revised its approach and pushed U.S. production to South Korea while updating the timeline and trim lineup.

“Following the successful launch of Polestar 4 in other markets around the world, we are thrilled to open the order books for the 2026 Polestar 4 in North America, which will all be built in Busan, South Korea,” said Rick Bryant, Head of Polestar North America. “Polestar 4 confidently enters the premium performance class within the D-SUV segment. Our SUV coupe’s innovative design offers generous interior space and a stunning appearance.”
The 2026 model now starts at $56,400 in the U.S. and comes in five available configurations—down from the initially promised eight. Notably, Polestar has eliminated the “Pro Pack” and the Long Range Single Motor variant that was originally slated to start at $54,900. The reshuffled lineup includes a Long Range Dual Motor trim that Polestar says is its fastest production model to date, capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds.

For customers who placed orders when the vehicle was designated as a 2025 model, Polestar confirmed those buyers will receive a price-protected 2026 version instead. The Polestar 4 joins the U.S.-assembled Polestar 3 in the company’s North American portfolio, expanding its presence in the premium electric SUV market.
