Autonomous trucking software company PlusAI has been named to Inc.’s 2025 Best in Business list for the second consecutive year, receiving recognition in both the Best in Innovation and Best Collaborations categories as it advances toward the commercial launch of factory-integrated autonomous trucks in 2027.
The U.S.-based company develops “virtual driver” software designed to power heavy-duty autonomous trucks. Inc. cited PlusAI’s expanding collaboration with global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and its progress toward scaled commercialization as key reasons for the award.
PlusAI is currently working with several major truck makers, including Scania, MAN and International under the TRATON GROUP umbrella, as well as Hyundai Motor Company and Iveco Group. The company aims to deliver factory-built autonomous trucks using its SuperDrive™ system through these partnerships.
“Factory integration with trusted truck platforms is essential to achieving the highest levels of safety and scalability,” said David Liu, chief executive and co-founder of PlusAI. “These collaborations are critical to making large-scale autonomous trucking a reality.”
The company reported continued progress across its commercial readiness indicators in the first half of 2025. It said its Safety Case Readiness reached 86%, up from 75% in the second half of 2024, while its Autonomous Miles Percentage rose to 98%. Remote Assistance Free Trips, a measure of fully autonomous performance without human intervention, increased to 76%.
PlusAI also began commercial pilot operations this year with International and select fleet operators along the Interstate-35 freight corridor between Laredo and Dallas. The pilots include validation of driver-out operations, testing the system’s ability to handle full autonomy without a human safety driver.
To support regulatory and policy readiness, the company has formed a Safety and Policy Advisory Council with representatives from organizations including the American Trucking Associations, the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
PlusAI said it plans to expand integration testing with OEM partners in 2026, followed by broader driverless validation across major freight routes ahead of its targeted 2027 commercial rollout. The company is also preparing to go public through a planned merger with Churchill Capital Corp IX.
