Stellantis brand Peugeot said on Tuesday it will upgrade its STLA Medium-based electric models, the E-3008 and E-5008, by equipping them with a battery preheating system as standard, while also expanding the rollout of its Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function across its EV lineup.
V2L technology, which allows the vehicle’s drive battery to power external devices via a Type 2 socket adapter, was first introduced on updated versions of the E-208 and E-2008. Peugeot said the system, capable of delivering up to 3 kW, will become standard across the E-308 and all versions of the E-408 from early 2026. “This makes V2L technology especially useful for remote working, outdoor activities, or emergency situations where access to reliable electricity is essential,” the company said.
The battery preconditioning feature, now standard on the E-3008 and E-5008, is designed to optimize charging in cold conditions. Peugeot said the system can raise battery temperature by 10°C in 20 minutes, helping drivers achieve 20–80% charging in under 30 minutes at up to 160 kW. The function can be activated automatically during route planning, manually via the car’s touchscreen, or through the MyPeugeot app when thermal cabin preconditioning is scheduled.
“Beyond range, fast, reliable, and predictable charging is key to the comfort and enjoyment of electric vehicles,” Peugeot said in a statement, without addressing why the feature was not included as standard previously.
In the UK, the Peugeot E-3008 starts at £46,060 for the 210 Standard Range variant, with the all-wheel-drive version priced at £52,190. The larger E-5008 begins at £48,760, rising to £58,990 for the all-wheel-drive model. Both offer a 73 kWh battery, while a 97 kWh pack is available for extended range.
