Onvo, the sub-brand of Chinese electric vehicle maker Nio, officially unveiled its L90 full-size SUV, entering the mainstream family SUV segment with a model featuring luxury-level specifications, advanced powertrain technologies, and an emphasis on spaciousness and comfort. The vehicle starts at 179,800 yuan ($25,000) under Nio’s battery-as-a-service (BaaS) plan.
The L90 is built on a 900V high-voltage architecture and features the same rear electric motor used in Nio’s premium ET9 model. The rear-wheel-drive version offers a driving range of up to 605 km under China’s CLTC cycle, while the all-wheel-drive version reaches 570 km. Onvo says the L90 can charge from 10% to 80% in just 25 minutes using fast-charging infrastructure.

“The L90 was created for families who want a vehicle that’s both intelligent and spacious, without compromising on performance,” the company said in a launch statement. A highlight of the marketing campaign is the vehicle’s 240-liter front trunk, or “frunk,” which Onvo says is large enough to store “two 20-inch suitcases plus a children’s luggage and a backpack — or a week’s worth of groceries.”
Measuring 5145mm long with a 3110mm wheelbase and a drag coefficient of 0.25, the L90 carries a bold presence and adheres to Onvo’s design language with distinctive split headlights. Inside, the SUV features flexible seating configurations with power adjustments, including “zero-gravity” second-row seats, a third row with 962mm of vertical seating height, and additional storage of 430L in the rear, including 106L of hidden space.

Technological features are a major focus for the L90. It includes a 35-inch augmented reality heads-up display (AR-HUD), a 17.2-inch 3K touchscreen, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip powering the cabin system. A 17.3-inch ceiling-mounted entertainment screen and an 8-inch rear display provide rear passengers with multimedia access, while the vehicle’s 23-speaker Onvo Sound Premium system is Dolby Atmos-certified and outputs 2048W.
The SUV is also equipped with an 8.86-liter onboard refrigerator that maintains functionality even when the car is locked. It can store twelve 330ml soda cans and supports a temperature range of 0–50°C with a weekly energy consumption of 2 kWh.

Under the hood, the rear motor delivers 340kW of power, accelerating the RWD model from 0–100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. The AWD version adds a 100kW asynchronous front motor, achieving 0–100 km/h in 4.7 seconds. Both variants employ a high-efficiency silicon carbide permanent magnet synchronous motor and integrate thermal management systems, including a heat pump and PTC heater.
