New patent images show Sany electric pickup truck with impressive look

Patent images of Sany’s first electric pickup truck leaked in various media about two months ago. Here comes another patent image of the upcoming Sany electric pickup truck.

Sany is a Chinese manufacturer of trucks and construction equipment, although best known for making cranes, trucks and excavators, Sany looks set to enter the world of electric cars.

The red pickup pictured in this image is luxurious. The front end looks aggressive and stylish with the illuminated display, small headlights, and LED daytime running lights that look a bit like eyebrows. The front of the truck has two large towing hooks and a crane.

These images shared via CarNewsChina also show the Sany truck with prominent front and rear wheel arches in gray to contrast the rest of the truck’s red paintwork.

The truck also appears to have a pop out handle that blends into the bodywork and also swings a large set of side ladders. Thick alloy wheels and off-road tires also attract attention, as does the aggressive C-pillar. Both two- and four-door variants are described.

As for the rear of the truck, it uses large LED taillights and two full-width light bars, creating a track-like array of lights. The rear also features two additional tow hooks.

The specifications of this vehicle are still kept secret by the company. It’s entirely possible that the company plans to bring both models to market, but it’s also possible that they will remain design concepts used only as promotional tools.
