SAIC president Jia Jianxu said at a recent event that the collaboration with Huawei will follow the Zhixuan model. Originally known as Zhixuan, the business was later rebranded as HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance), reflecting Huaweiâs most involved form of automotive cooperation.
Huawei currently operates under three automotive collaboration models. In its most limited role, it supplies components and the HarmonyOS system. A more integrated model, âHuawei Inside,â involves providing full-stack solutions including smart cockpits and autonomous driving technology. The creation of new joint brands, such as the partnership with SAIC, represents Huaweiâs most extensive engagement with carmakers.

The new brand will be the fifth under Huaweiâs HIMA business. While neither Huawei nor SAIC have publicly confirmed the brand name, several local media outlets have reported that the first Shangjie model will be based on a vehicle from SAICâs sub-brand Roewe.
All models under the new brand will be sold through HIMAâs dedicated sales channels, according to reports from Chinese media.
