Mini officially showcased the Aceman concept car, which is an electric crossover that fits the size of the Mini Cooper and Mini Countryman. This concept electric car comes with a bold, futuristic design and is synonymous with the latest technology.
The design language of the Aceman Concept marks the beginning of a new design era for the Mini. Despite having a new design, the Mini retains the historical features of the brand.
“We are returning to this now, but at the same time consistently combining it with innovative technology. With this approach, we are redeveloping the iconic Mini design, with all its analog power, for the digital future,” said BMW Group Design Head Adrian van Hooydonk.
The Aceman concept is described as a Charismatic Simplicity, where this concept car has a simple two-box shape. This electric car has a length of 4.05 meters, a width of 1.99 meters and a height of 1.59 meters.
The front air vents won’t do much cooling as the octagonal perimeter has an array of lights that can display different designs. The headlights are no longer round, but the taillights still feature the Union Jack design that is characteristic of Mini cars.
The exterior is clad in a bright color with the roof in British Racing Green and the body in Icy Sunglow Green. The underbody is also painted in dark green and the accents are painted blue and pink-orange.
In the interior, the Mini carries a sustainable concept, where the seats are no longer covered in leather but use a combination of environmentally friendly textiles such as velvet velor, waffle weave, houndstoorh, and others.
“In the interior of the Mini Aceman Concept, we have concentrated on a simple look in combination with premium materials and friendly colours,” said Mini’s Head of Design, Oliver Heilmer.
Talking about features, the Mini Aceman uses a round OLED screen which is based on the latest generation Mini operating system. The company claims this concept car has the feel of an electrified kart, an immersive digital experience, and a focus on the environmental footprint.
The Mini Aceman Concept will make its debut at the 2022 Gamescon event in Cologne, Germany. After being officially introduced to the public, this car is likely to enter production soon before being marketed.
