MG4 electric hatchback earns five star Euro NCAP crash test

The latest electric car from MG has passed a series of safety tests, carried out by Euro NCAP. MG4 managed to get a 5-star rating, which means that the car has a qualified security system and is able to protect passengers when an accident occurs.

Testing was carried out in order to test various safety features in MG4. As a result of all tests, Euro NCAP rated 83% adult passenger protection, 80% child protection, 75% pedestrian protection and 78% safety features.

During the front crash test there were 2 parts, namely the full front, at 50% the front. With an average speed of 50-60 kph, MG4 crashed into another car and a wall. It is known, the seat belts work well to keep the body from bouncing forward, and the airbags open perfectly to support so that the head does not hit forward.

Even the seat design was also tested, because when an incident occurs, sudden movement can be fatal. However, the MG4 seat design is considered capable of holding the neck back and minimizing the risk of neck injury.

From the side the collision speed is around 32 kph to 60 kph. MG4 has also been equipped with side airbags, so that when the airbag opens it prevents glass splinters and collisions which can increase the risk of passenger injury.

The safety features are tested starting from testing the detection sensors for pedestrians, cyclists or other cars to activate braking assistance. Then features such as lane keeping warning and roadside warnings also work well.

Naturally, this car has a high score in the test session, because the MG4 has been equipped with several active safety systems such as Intelligent Safety Systems Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), Blind Spot Accident Warning System, Rear Cross Traffic Assist, AEB (Autonomous Emergency Emergency) automatic braking system. Braking), DMS (Driver Monitor System) driving behavior detection and so on.
