Mercedes-Benz has introduced MB.CHARGE as the new umbrella for its digital charging solutions, replacing the existing Mercedes me Charge service. The transition, set for completion by mid-March, will maintain current pricing and tariffs, the company announced.
MB.CHARGE Public, the first step under the new platform, will be available to private users and, starting in April, to fleet and business customers.

Existing contracts under Mercedes me Charge will be automatically transferred to MB.CHARGE Public without changes, and current RFID charging cards will remain functional. The service provides access to more than 2.3 million charging points from over 1,600 operators worldwide.
“The charging functions are seamlessly integrated into the MBUX multimedia system and the Mercedes-Benz app, allowing operation through a single user interface,” the automaker said. “The deep vehicle integration and connectivity with the charging infrastructure make public charging easier and meet key customer requirements for electromobility.”

Mercedes-Benz is also rolling out a reservation system for its charging stations in Germany and the U.S., allowing users to secure a charging spot up to 15 minutes before arrival.
The feature is currently free, but the company has indicated that it “reserves the right to make the reservation chargeable in the future.” Expansion to additional markets is planned for 2025, with a long-term target of 10,000 charging points by the end of the decade.

Fleet and business customers will gain access to a web-based charging fleet portal for managing transactions, invoices, and charging contracts. The B2B service will first launch in Germany, France, the United Kingdom, the U.S., and Canada, with further expansion planned across Europe later this year.
“Our goal is to provide an exceptional charging experience,” said Franz Reiner, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Mobility AG. “By covering all customer touchpoints during charging with our electric vehicles, the integrated charging service, and our own Mercedes-Benz Charging Network, we create a fully connected charging experience with exclusive benefits. MB.CHARGE Public is the central link in this digital and connected charging infrastructure.”
