Having been introduced to the public recently at the IAA 2022 transportation exhibition in Hanover, Germany, the Mercedes-Benz eActros LongHaul heavy-duty electric truck instantly won the ‘2023 Truck Innovation Award’.

Reporting from Daimler’s official website on Monday (26/9/2022), this prestigious industry award was presented by the ‘International Truck of the Year’ (IToY) jury consisting of 25 experienced commercial vehicle journalists from important international media from Europe and other countries.

Thanks to a variety of innovative technologies such as the new Lithium-iron Phosphate Fell (LFP) battery, e-axle to the speed of sustainable truck development, the ‘2023 Truck Innovation Award’ was presented directly by IToY Chief Judge, Gianenrico Griffini to Karin Rådström as CEO of Mercedes-Benz Trucks. .

“Our new battery technology, LFP, offers longer range and durability. This truck lasts longer in terms of charging and driving, so we get energy from the battery which results in more mileage,” Karin said at the launch some time ago.

The Mercedes-Benz eActros LongHaul is a heavy-duty electric truck designed as a long-distance transport fleet that can cover distances of up to 500 km on a single battery charge and is capable of high-performance charging.

eActros LongHaul is planned to be the right choice for customers in terms of profitability, sustainability and reliability. The first prototype has already undergone intensive testing and the electric truck will soon be tested on public roads by the end of 2022.

In the coming year, this truck will be produced and delivered to customers in 2024. “We introduced it for the first time yesterday and we want to offer this model at least in early 2024,” concluded Karin.

Previously, in recent years, Mercedes-Benz’s future truck lineup has also won several other innovation awards such as the first eActros truck to a hydrogen-based fuel cell truck, the Mercedes-Benz GenH2.
