MAN eTruck presents a breakthrough in the electric-powered heavy vehicle transportation industry at IAA Transportation 2022, (20-25/9). It is believed this prototype is close to a production version in 2024, claimed to have a range of 800 km with megawatt charging capability.
The ability of the MAN eTruck is able to replace the capabilities of conventional diesel engines. Of course, this answers the global desire to reduce exhaust emissions from shipping transportation vehicles, plus the digitization of logistics and the advantages of e-mobility make it easier for users to reduce costs.
Hoping that with the growth of battery charging infrastructure, MAN has the opportunity for every CO2 free job and this makes it easier for shipping companies. Because with the presence of the MAN eTruck, shipping entrepreneurs can more freely enter non-emissions areas that have been set in many countries in Europe.
The capability of high-voltage recharging in a shorter time makes this electric truck very suitable to be relied on in the future for long-distance deliveries. It is also possible to be able to cover a distance of 600 and 800 km, even up to 1,000 km later.
Of course, with low operating costs and commensurate energy balance, this electric battery powered vehicle presents future technology that demands commercial vehicles to be free from harmful exhaust emissions.
Originally, the MAN eTruck could be relied on as transportation for food delivery, so it could be more hygienic. When driving, it does not produce noise and will not pollute the city with CO2, because electric motors do not produce exhaust emissions. Can freely enter the city carrying heavy materials for construction.
The presence of MAN eTruck was also accompanied by the introduction of MAN eMobility Consulting. This program was first introduced at the IAA to welcome this electric-powered truck. Consumers can get advice according to their needs in terms of operations, cost optimization, route analysis, fleet optimization and also the availability of battery charging infrastructure.
Plus the MAN eManager allows every company manager to keep track of information on battery charging needs for all trucks. This is part of the eSolutions presented by MAN Transport Solutions during this exhibition.
