German commercial vehicle manufacturer MAN is enhancing its services for battery-electric trucks as it prepares to make 2025 the “Year of the eTruck.” The company is expanding its support offerings for fleet operators, including assistance with fleet planning and charging infrastructure.
Pre-series deliveries of the MAN eTruck began in October, with full-scale production set to start in mid-2025 at the company’s Munich facility. MAN reports receiving around 2,800 order enquiries and confirmed orders for the eTruck. To facilitate the transition from diesel to electric, the company has trained approximately 100 “eMobility Champions” across Europe. These specialists will provide consulting services on fleet electrification, including the implementation of charging solutions.

The company has also introduced a web-based tool to assist customers in planning their charging infrastructure. The tool offers simulations based on fleet size and daily mileage, while also integrating satellite imagery to optimize charger placement. “By considering factors like photovoltaic energy generation and cost implications, we can help customers make informed decisions about their transition to e-mobility,” MAN stated.
Additionally, MAN is preparing to launch “MAN Charge&Go” in May 2025, a charging tariff system that provides access to a truck-compatible charging network. The initiative includes a digital map displaying current and upcoming charging locations, with over 1,000 truck-compatible stations expected by the end of 2025. The company, in partnership with E.ON, plans to install 80 public charging stations at its service centers.

For route optimization, MAN offers “SmartRoute,” a digital service integrated into the RIO Fleet Monitor system. The tool calculates optimal charging stops based on battery status and station capacity. “MAN SmartRoute ensures seamless route planning for eTruck operators, and the service is free for the first five years for eTGX and eTGS customers,” the company said.
