The Lucid Air Grand Touring delivered the longest driving range among 24 vehicles tested at Norway’s 2026 NAF Winter Test, covering 520 kilometres on a single charge under the coldest conditions recorded in the event’s history.
The U.S.-built electric sedan outpaced its nearest rival by 99 km, with the second-place vehicle managing 421 km, according to results published by Norges Automobil-Forbund (NAF). Temperatures during the test fell as low as minus 31 degrees Celsius, significantly increasing energy demand for heating and traction.

The biannual winter evaluation, branded “El Prix,” is regarded as Norway’s most comprehensive real-world assessment of electric vehicle range and charging performance. The route combines urban traffic in Oslo, mountain passes through Lillehammer and Dombås, highways and secondary roads. Vehicles repeatedly drove a final stretch between Hjerkinn and Rondane Gjestegård until they could no longer maintain the posted speed limit.
This marked Lucid’s first participation in the winter test, which is co-organised with Motor magazine. The Grand Touring’s performance contrasted sharply with its certified WLTP range of up to 960 km under standard conditions, highlighting the impact of extreme cold on battery-electric vehicles — but also its relative efficiency advantage.

The Lucid Air Grand Touring is rated at 13.5 kWh per 100 km on the WLTP combined cycle and is capable of adding up to 400 km of range in about 16 minutes using DC fast charging. The dual-motor sedan produces 611 kW (831 PS) and has a top speed of 270 km/h.
“Achieving the longest range in the harshest winter conditions ever recorded in this test underlines the efficiency of our technology in real-world use,” said Lawrence Hamilton, Lucid’s president for Europe, in a statement.

The result adds to a growing list of range benchmarks for the model. At the NAF Summer Test in 2025, the Air Grand Touring covered 828.6 km, surpassing a previous record set in 2023. In July 2025, Lucid also secured a Guinness World Records title for the longest journey by an electric car on a single charge, travelling 1,205 km.
Norway, which has one of the world’s highest rates of EV adoption, uses the NAF tests to provide consumers with comparative data under conditions that are often more demanding than standard laboratory cycles.
