Li Auto reported August deliveries of 28,529 vehicles, down 40.7% from a year earlier, marking its third straight month of sharp declines. Deliveries also slipped 7.2% from July, the company said on Monday.
From January to August, the Chinese automaker delivered 263,198 vehicles, an 8.6% year-on-year decrease, bringing total deliveries since its founding to 1.4 million units.
Amid the downturn, Li Auto is banking on its upcoming Li i6 electric SUV, priced between RMB 250,000 ($35,040) and RMB 300,000, which is set to launch in September. The company also recently adjusted its Li i8 lineup, cutting variants and lowering prices following a disappointing market debut. Deliveries of the i8 began on August 20, with a goal of 8,000 to 10,000 units by the end of September.
Li Auto targets stable monthly sales of 9,000–10,000 Li i6 units and around 6,000 Li i8 units by year-end, founder and CEO Li Xiang said. Including the Li Mega, monthly BEV deliveries are expected to stabilize at 18,000–20,000 units. The company said Li Mega deliveries topped 3,000 units in August.
As of end-August, Li Auto operated 543 retail stores across 156 cities, 536 service centers in 222 cities, and maintained 3,190 supercharging stations with 17,597 charging points nationwide.
