Avride has completed more than 60,000 autonomous passenger trips for Uber riders in Dallas, marking a new milestone for the company’s commercial robotaxi operations. The autonomous mobility developer disclosed the figure as part of a broader operational update that highlighted rapid fleet expansion, increased service coverage, and growing autonomous mileage.
The company also announced that it has doubled its original service area in Dallas and plans to expand the operating zone further in the coming months as it continues scaling its commercial robotaxi network.
More Than 60,000 Autonomous Uber Trips
Avride operates its autonomous ride-hailing service through Uber’s platform, allowing passengers to access driverless rides directly through the Uber app.
According to the company, the milestone demonstrates growing adoption of autonomous transportation services in a real-world commercial environment. The robotaxi program serves as one of the company’s primary pathways for bringing autonomous driving technology to everyday consumers.
The Dallas deployment remains a key testbed for Avride’s commercial expansion strategy as autonomous mobility providers seek to transition from pilot programs to larger-scale operations.
Fleet Logs 1.3 Million Autonomous Miles
Alongside the passenger trip milestone, Avride reported that its fleet has accumulated more than 1.3 million autonomous miles.
Notably, approximately 1 million of those miles were driven during 2026 alone, reflecting a significant increase in operational activity over the past year.
The company’s fleet now consists of more than 200 vehicles, including both research-and-development vehicles and robotaxis deployed in commercial passenger service.
Service Area Expansion Continues
Avride said it has doubled the size of its original Dallas operating zone, expanding the areas where passengers can request autonomous rides.
The company indicated that additional geographic expansion is planned as it continues to evaluate performance, safety metrics, and rider demand.
The larger service area is expected to increase ride availability and provide more opportunities for passengers to experience autonomous transportation as part of their daily travel routines.
Focus on Responsible Scaling
The company emphasized that its growth strategy prioritizes measured deployment and ongoing safety oversight.
Avride described its expansion approach as one focused on responsible scaling, supported by continuous monitoring and operational evaluation as the technology moves into broader public use.
The Uber partnership remains central to that strategy, providing direct access to passenger demand while integrating autonomous vehicles into an established ride-hailing ecosystem.
Looking Toward the Next Million Miles
As autonomous vehicle developers compete to scale commercial operations, mileage and passenger trip milestones have become important indicators of technological maturity and operational readiness.
With more than 1.3 million autonomous miles already completed and service coverage continuing to expand, Avride said its immediate focus is on further integrating robotaxi services into Dallas’ transportation network while working toward its next million autonomous miles.
The company views the combination of growing ride volumes, expanded service areas, and increasing operational experience as key building blocks for the broader deployment of autonomous mobility services in future markets.
