At a virtual briefing on Toyota’s electric car technology strategy, Lexus also revealed the appearance of the Lexus RZ (14/12).
The appearance of this electric car was revealed when Koji Sato, President and Chief Branding Officer of Lexus International, presented the Lexus Electrified strategy.

The presentation also revealed an electric sports concept car, followed by two electric sedan and SUV concept cars as Akio Toyoda, Toyota’s President and Chief Executive Officer, continued.
“Unleashing the full potential of a vehicle through electrification technology, that’s what electrification means to Lexus,” said Sato.
“We will provide a unique electrified Lexus that combines linear acceleration and deceleration of the bike as well as a pleasant braking and handling feeling to pursue driving satisfaction,” added Sato.
The Lexus RZ shown at the Sato presentation is a variant of the RZ 450e.
Looking at the appearance in general, the Lexus RZ 450e has similar body lines to the Lexus RX, especially on the sloping roof.
The difference is seen at the front of the car where Lexus provides the RZ Spindle Grille in the form of an aerodynamic panel with a small air dam underneath.
Even though it’s just a panel, the Spindle Grille Lexus RZ retains a twisting thread-style design on the side close to the vent.
Then for the side, the Lexus RZ retains the distinctive design of the e-Toyota New Global Architecture (e-TNGA) platform, namely the charging port in the fender area.

The Lexus RZ has a floating roof model with blackened pillars and has a body that looks calmer than the Toyota bZ4X or Subaru Solterra.
The same applies to the rear which emphasizes that the RZ is a Lexus electric car.
It has an in-line taillight design that dips up at the ends and a written Lexus badge.
Interestingly, on the back of the RZ 450e there is a DIRECT4 badge which indicates that this variant has All-Wheel Drive (AWD) drive.
Unfortunately Lexus has not provided information on the specifications of the Lexus RZ at the time this article was written.
