Chinese automaker Leapmotor plans to manufacture up to four electric vehicle models at Stellantis’s plant in Figueruelas, near Zaragoza, with production scheduled to begin in 2026, according to statements cited by Spanish media.
Production is expected to start with the Leapmotor B10, followed by three additional models by 2027, the Spanish electric mobility portal Forococheseléctricos reported, citing comments from Ding Yongfei, Leapmotor’s global quality director. “We will produce the B10 and, by 2027, the B05, the A10, and the A05. In total, four models at the Stellantis Figueruelas plant,” Ding was quoted as saying.
According to the report, production of the B10 is set to begin in August 2026, with an initial annual output of around 40,000 vehicles. That timing confirms earlier indications that manufacturing would start in the third quarter of 2026, rather than earlier estimates that had also mentioned the first quarter. The rollout of the additional models will depend on the pace of demand in Europe, though initial volumes could be increased if market conditions allow, the report said.
Leapmotor’s plans in Spain go beyond final assembly. Ding made the remarks during the launch of Lieder Automotive, a new joint venture between China’s Duoli Technology and Spanish automotive supplier Fagor Ederlan. The venture is setting up operations at a former Fagor Ederlan facility in Borja and is expected to begin producing chassis components for the Leapmotor B10 from July 2026, supplying them to the Stellantis plant near Zaragoza.

The Leapmotor B10 is a 4.52-metre battery-electric SUV positioned between the compact and mid-size segments. In Germany, B10 models imported from China are currently priced from €29,990, rising to €33,990 for versions with the larger battery. The smaller B05 was unveiled in September at IAA Mobility and has already launched in China under the name Lafa 5.
The A05 and A10, both A-segment vehicles, are expected to be renamed for Europe, partly to avoid potential trademark issues with Audi. The A10 is expected to be marketed in Europe as the B03X, while pricing for the three additional models has yet to be announced.

Leapmotor’s Spanish project has been the subject of speculation in recent years, but the development of a local supplier base and plans for a nearby battery plant by Stellantis and CATL have added momentum. When B10 production begins in Spain, it will not mark Leapmotor’s first European manufacturing effort: the automaker previously assembled its T03 small car at Stellantis’s plant in Tychy, Poland, though that production was later discontinued.
