Leapmotor has produced its one-millionth vehicle, the company announced on its Weibo account, marking a significant milestone since its founding in 2015. The milestone was reached just 343 days after the company celebrated its 500,000th vehicle.
The company began mass production in June 2019, reaching 100,000 vehicles in June 2022 and 500,000 vehicles in October 2024.
Leapmotor initially focused on battery electric vehicles (BEVs) but expanded into extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs) in 2023. Its current lineup in China includes the T03, B10, B01, C01, C10, C11, and C16, with select models offered in both BEV and EREV variants.
Leapmotor has seen rapid sales growth this year, delivering 328,859 vehicles from January to August, a 136 percent increase compared with the same period in 2024. August deliveries reached 57,066 units, marking the fourth consecutive month of record-high deliveries.
Deutsche Bank projects September deliveries could reach 63,000 units, a roughly 10 percent month-on-month increase and 87 percent higher than a year earlier.
The company is preparing to launch its all-new D19 SUV globally on October 16, priced around RMB 300,000 ($42,080). Over the next three years, Leapmotor plans to expand its portfolio across its A, B, C, and D series, targeting the RMB 60,000 to RMB 300,000 market segment with 13 to 14 new models.
