Kia has launched its new EV5 in the UK, opening orders for the Sportage-sized electric SUV on Monday as the South Korean automaker expands its EV lineup in one of Europe’s most competitive segments.
The EV5, which Kia calls “a cornerstone” of its electrification strategy, is available in three trims – Air, GT-Line, and GT-Line S – all powered by an 81.4 kWh battery pack delivering a range of up to 329 miles.

Built on a 400V platform, the SUV can charge from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes. Each model features a single front-mounted electric motor producing 214 horsepower (160 kW) and 295 Nm of torque, with a 0-62 mph acceleration time of 8.4 seconds.
Inside, the EV5 incorporates Kia’s Connected Car Navigation Cockpit, including dual 12.3-inch displays for the driver and navigation, a 5.3-inch climate control screen, and optional head-up display on higher trims. The SUV measures 4,610 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width, and 1,675 mm in height, making it slightly larger than the Sportage.

Pricing starts at £39,295 ($53,000) for the base Air model, £42,595 ($57,800) for the GT-Line, and £47,095 ($63,700) for the GT-Line S. The EV5 joins Kia’s expanding UK electric vehicle portfolio alongside the EV3, EV4, EV6, and EV9.
Deliveries are expected to begin later this year, following strong retail demand for the smaller EV3, which was the best-selling retail EV in the UK in the first half of 2025.
