Mitch Evans became the champion of Formula E Jakarta which took place in Indonesia. Jean Eric Vergne and Antonio Felix Da Costa, two of the DS Techeetah drivers who took pole position at the start, managed to hold on to their place shortly after the start of the race.
The competition at the beginning of the race was quite fierce, but soon the yellow flag was flying because Oliver Rowland’s car tire fell off. After the race returned to normal and the safety car came out, Mitch Evans managed to take over second place from Da Costa.
Evans then took charge of the race with 34 minutes remaining. But a minute later, Vergne again raced Evans, who instead slipped to third place after being raced by Edoardo Mortara.
About 15 minutes after the start, the top five positions occupied by Vergne, Mortara, Evans, Da Costa, and Jake Dennis began to create distance with the drivers behind him.
However, this situation did not last long as the strategy of taking the ‘attack mode’ was carried out by the drivers in the top five drivers’ positions and those behind them met again. Even the leader of the standings Stoffel Vandoorne who was left behind could enter the top five zone by racing Dennis.
Until entering the 20th minute of the Jakarta 2022 Formula E race, Vergne was still leading, followed by Evans and Mortara. While Vandoorne is trying to maintain its position in fifth place.
Towards the last 10 minutes, Evans, Mortara and Da Costa were involved in a fierce duel. Vergne and Evans then performed a duel for the 2022 Formula E Jakarta title. Vergne continued to lead the race, while Evans continued to stick closely.
With seven minutes remaining in the race, at Turn 7, Evans overtook Vergne from the inside. Evans tried to leave Vergne in the remaining minutes of the race. Da Costa and Vandoorne are also involved in a fierce duel in the race for fourth place.
In the last two laps Evans and Vergne again showed competition, plus Mortara who was stuck in third place.
Until the finish flag flew, Evans still maintained his first position. Vergne is in second place, followed by Mortara in third.
