Izera will use Geely’s SEA platform for its electric vehicles

Geely signs an agreement with ElectroMobility Poland (EMP) to license the all-electric Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA). EMP will use Geely’s SEA platform for electric vehicles under the Izera brand.

The first Izera model to use Geely’s SEA platform is an electric compact SUV. In addition, the SEA platform will also be used for two additional models – a C-segment station wagon and a hatchback.

EMP is a Polish government-backed maker of electric vehicles. Geely’s SEA platform will help EMP meet Poland’s transition to electric vehicles and is a significant extension of the SEA architecture.

The SEA platform was first launched in September 2020. The architecture is positioned as a flexible all-electric platform and has been used by brands including Zeekr and Smart. EMP itself is the first direct external user of the SEA platform.

The SEA platform is highly flexible for a variety of vehicle types, from small A-segment vehicles to larger E-segment and commercial vehicles.

The Izera electric SUV based on the SEA architecture will be produced at EMP’s manufacturing facility in Jaworzno, Poland, which employs 2,400 people.
