Indian electric bus manufacturer JBM Electric Vehicles (JBM EV), part of the JBM Group conglomerate, has officially launched its entry into the European market with the debut of its all-electric Ecolife city bus at the UITP Summit 2025 in Hamburg. The company also announced the opening of its European headquarters in Frankfurt am Main and a strategic leasing partnership with Germany’s Kazenmaier.
The Ecolife electric bus, designed to meet European and VDV standards, is JBM’s flagship model for the region. While detailed technical specifications were not disclosed, the bus boasts a driving range of over 400 kilometers and high-speed DC charging capabilities. JBM also presented its integrated electric bus ecosystem, dubbed “JBM E-Verse,” which offers customers a streamlined solution combining vehicles, charging infrastructure, and support services.
Daniel Frade has been appointed to lead the company’s European operations, overseeing sales, marketing, and partnerships. In Germany, JBM has teamed up with Kazenmaier Leasing to roll out over 100 electric buses. The collaboration includes delivery, infrastructure support, and a leasing model aimed at simplifying the transition for cities and transit agencies.
“As a leasing company with a strong focus on financing sustainable assets, we have found a great partner in JBM Electric Vehicles,” said Max Nastold, CEO of Kazenmaier Leasing. “Together, we are driving sustainable mobility in local public transport. The key lies in the turnkey solution that combines bus, charging infrastructure, and leasing.”
“Our mission is to decarbonize public transport by creating new and sustainable global benchmarks,” said Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman of JBM Group. “At JBM EV, we believe the future of green mobility lies in creating vehicles that seamlessly blend innovation, sustainability and user-centric design.”
JBM EV claims to have more than 11,000 electric buses either deployed or on order globally. Its India-based manufacturing plant has an annual production capacity of 20,000 units.
