iCar, Chery’s new energy vehicle brand, has unveiled the V25, an extended-range SUV that expands its range of boxy models in China. The vehicle made its debut in Chengdu on Aug. 14 and is expected to go on sale in the fourth quarter of 2026.
The V25 is the third model in iCar’s V series and is positioned as a technology-focused light flagship SUV aimed primarily at younger consumers. The model is also scheduled to appear at the 2026 Chengdu Auto Show.
Boxy SUV Adds Extended-Range Powertrain
The V25 retains the boxy styling used across iCar’s V series.

The SUV measures 4,636 mm long including its external storage box, 1,920 mm wide and 1,855 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm. Ground clearance is 197 mm.
At the rear, the vehicle uses a side-opening tailgate that swings through 88 degrees. It also features an externally mounted 22.7-litre storage compartment.
The V25 is available in five exterior colours: white, black, silver, green and matte grey. Standard equipment includes 21-inch wheels and 265 mm-wide tyres.

The V25 uses a 33.67 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine as a range extender.
Chery’s iCar Begins Mass Production of V27 Extended-Range Electric SUV
The engine is Chery’s SQRH4J15 unit, with a maximum output of 115 kW.
The vehicle is expected to use a dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration with electric motors positioned at the front and rear.
Two battery-electric range configurations are planned, with WLTC ranges of 145 km and 150 km. Fuel consumption at a low state of charge is listed at 6.9 litres and 7.15 litres per 100 km, respectively.
Super Falcon 700+ Adds Assisted Driving Functions
The V25 uses Chery’s Super Falcon 700+ driver assistance system, which is built around Horizon Robotics’ Journey 6P chip.
The computing platform provides 560 TOPS of computing performance. LiDAR is available as an option.
The system supports highway navigation, urban Navigation on Autopilot and automated parking.
Independent Suspension and Off-Road Positioning
The V25 uses MacPherson struts at the front and a five-link independent suspension at the rear.
Chery said the chassis has been tuned by an international calibration team.

With its 197 mm ground clearance and all-wheel-drive configuration, the vehicle is positioned with some light off-road capability while remaining focused on everyday SUV use.
V25 Expands iCar’s Range-Extender Lineup
The V25 is iCar’s second extended-range vehicle.
The company’s V27 flagship, which entered the Chinese market on March 13, was the first model in the lineup to use an extended-range powertrain and remains iCar’s largest vehicle.
The V25 will join the V23, V23S and V27 in iCar’s Chinese lineup. The V23 remains the brand’s main volume model and starts at 122,800 yuan ($18,091).
The V25 is expected to enter the market in the fourth quarter, adding an extended-range compact SUV to iCar’s expanding range of electrified vehicles.
