Hyundai Motor UK has announced pricing and specifications for the Ioniq 9, its latest electric SUV, marking the company’s third model based on the E-GMP electric vehicle platform. The Ioniq 9 will be available in three trims—Premium, Ultimate, and Calligraphy—with prices starting from £64,995. The vehicle features a 110.3 kWh battery delivering up to 385 miles of range under the WLTP cycle and introduces Hyundai’s new smart AI Assistant as standard equipment.
Building on the same 800V architecture as the Ioniq 5 and 6, the Ioniq 9 supports fast charging at up to 233 kW, allowing its battery to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 20 minutes under optimal conditions. All trims share the same battery pack but offer varying levels of power and equipment.

The entry-level Premium version uses a single 160 kW rear motor, while the Ultimate and Calligraphy models feature dual-motor setups delivering up to 230 kW. A six-seat Calligraphy Performance variant increases output to 320 kW (427 PS) and includes all-wheel drive.
Hyundai has designed the Ioniq 9 with both family and luxury use in mind. All variants come with seven-seat configurations as standard, while the high-end Calligraphy trim offers a six-seat layout with a sliding centre console and rotatable second-row seats for lounge-style comfort. Other features across the range include panoramic dual 12.3-inch displays with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a suite of USB-C ports (including two 100W outlets), and a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function for powering external devices.

Performance figures vary across the lineup: the rear-wheel-drive version accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 9.4 seconds, while the AWD and Performance models achieve 6.7 seconds and 5.2 seconds, respectively. Torque output tops out at 700Nm. All models also feature a standard heat pump, manually selectable battery conditioning, and an internal 3-pin plug for additional V2L functionality.
A key new feature debuting in the Ioniq 9 is Hyundai’s smart AI Assistant, which extends beyond traditional voice recognition. Based on generative AI technology, the assistant supports a range of tasks including controlling vehicle systems, navigating routes, and offering recommendations for local services.

“Ioniq 9 is a bold statement of innovation, sustainability, and design,” said Ashley Andrew, President of Hyundai & Genesis UK. “From its E-GMP fast charging and long-distance capabilities, driver centric technology and enhanced cabin comfort, every detail has been crafted to redefine the electric driving experience.”
Hyundai has yet to confirm an official on-sale date for the Ioniq 9 in the UK, but production and deliveries are expected to begin later this year.
