Huawei-backed Aito is set to introduce its new M8 SUV in April, aiming to strengthen its position in the mid-to-large-size SUV market. The M8, positioned between the existing M7 and M9 models, will be available in both extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) variants.
According to filings with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the M8 measures 5,190 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,795 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,105 mm. The vehicle offers 5-seat and 6-seat configurations, adhering to Aito’s family design language.

Powertrain options include a 1.5-liter engine producing 118 kW, paired with front and rear motors delivering 165 kW and 227 kW, respectively. Battery capacities are 36.019 kWh and 51.975 kWh, providing electric ranges of 161 km, 235 km, and 240 km, depending on the variant.
The M8 is expected to compete with models like Li Auto’s Li L8 and L9, with pricing anticipated between RMB 350,000 ($48,170) and RMB 450,000. Deutsche Bank analyst Wang Bin projects annual sales of approximately 120,000 units by 2025.
