Honda Motor said it will begin accepting pre-orders in Japan for its new Honda Super-ONE compact electric vehicle on April 16, ahead of the model’s market launch in late May.
The A-segment battery-electric vehicle weighs 1,090 kilograms and offers a driving range of 274 kilometers under worldwide harmonised light vehicle test conditions, positioning it among the lightest passenger EVs available in the Japanese market, the automaker said.
Honda said the Super-ONE is based on an adapted version of its N Series lightweight platform, featuring a widened tread and a thin underfloor battery pack designed to lower the vehicle’s center of gravity and improve handling.
The model includes a dedicated BOOST Mode that raises maximum power output from 47 kilowatts to 70 kilowatts. The feature works in conjunction with a simulated seven-speed transmission and Active Sound Control system intended to emulate the shifting feel and engine sound of internal combustion vehicles.
Five exterior paint options will be offered, including a new Boost Violet Pearl finish developed specifically for the model.
Honda said an eight-speaker Bose Premium Sound System will come standard, making the Super-ONE the first Honda compact vehicle in Japan equipped with Bose audio as standard equipment.
The vehicle will be showcased at the Automobile Council 2026 at Makuhari Messe from April 10 to April 12 before pre-orders begin at Honda Cars dealerships nationwide.
