Honda Announces New EV Factory in China, with production 12000 unit a year

The electric vehicle industry continues to experience rapid progress. This is marked by the emergence of vehicles with various advanced features and the transition of fuel-oil powered cars (conventional) to electric power.

This condition also received serious attention from Honda China. In an official statement, Honda Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. which is a subsidiary of Honda in China announced that Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co., Ltd will build a dedicated EV production plant.

This is done to build sufficient systems and production capabilities to expand the line of EVs in the future.

The new dedicated EV factory, will be built in the Wuhan Economic Development Zone in Hubei Province, China, on an area of ​​630,000 square meters, with a basic annual production capacity of 120,000 vehicles.

This factory is designed to be able to produce EVs with efficient and intelligent functions from the beginning to the end. It is estimated that Honda could start production in 2024.

Later, all of Honda’s electric vehicle production processes will be carried out at this factory, from stamping, welding, painting, assembly, and complete vehicle inspections.

The plant will also strive to achieve a leading level of automation in the automotive industry, especially in the assembly area.

In addition, the plant will proactively pursue sustainability initiatives, which will include the utilization of renewable energy sources such as solar power towards the realization of carbon neutrality, the use of recycled water and other resource conservation measures as well as the reduction of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) emissions. major air pollution.

Honda is also committed to continuing to accelerate electrification efforts towards realizing carbon neutrality by 2050 and offering attractive products that exceed consumer expectations.
