Here’s How Mercedes EQXX travels 1,000 Kilometres On A Single Charge

The electric car of the future is being demonstrated by Mercedes-Benz. The Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX conducted direct testing in mainland Europe to determine the actual mileage and efficiency.

The path used to start at Sindelfingen and finish at Cassis on the Côte d’Azur covers more than 1,000 km, the scenario in daily traffic for a single battery charge. The test was carried out during rainy and cold conditions at the usual speed on the highway, including speeding at 140 kph on German highways to approach the speed limit area.

It is believed that the trip still leaves 15% of the battery or can still cover a distance of another 140 km. The battery energy consumption is very economical, reaching 8.7 kWh per 100 km. The total mileage reaches 1,008 km. The total travel time is 12 hours 2 minutes by car moving 11 hours 32 minutes.

Through this test, the Vision EQXX also proves efficiency at the highest level of electric cars, use in real conditions and independently proves. This test was also carried out by sealing the battery charging socket and witnessed by the certification body TÜV Süd.

“Finally we can do it! It goes more than 1,000 km on a single charge and consumes only 8.7 kWh/100 km under real traffic conditions,” said Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG.

He added that the Vision EQXX is the most efficient Mercedes car ever made. The technology program behind it marks a milestone in the development of electric cars. “This supports our strategic goal to excel in electric vehicles,” said Ola.

Oh yes, the routes traversed by Vision EQXX are very diverse, ranging from highways and weather conditions. departed from the R&D center in Sindelfingen near Stuttgart in cold weather, start-to-finish temperatures from 3 to 18 degrees Celsius. North of the Alps there is light rain to the south and light breezes with warm sunshine.

Gliding smoothly at a speed of 140 kph, Vision EQXX only has a wind resistance of 0.17 cd. Vehicles that are indeed road legal, make the car’s speed like drops of water falling thanks to the best aerodynamic arrangements. The rear diffuser automatically expands at 60 kph.

Supported by Bridgenstone tires that have a rolling resistance of 4.7, made especially for this electric car. Turanza 185/65 R20 97 T tire profile. Enliten technology provides lower rolling resistance and 20 percent lighter weight than similar tires used by EQS.
