HERE Technologies has partnered with e-mobility platform Cariqa to integrate electric vehicle charging payments into its HERE WeGo navigation app, combining route planning, charging station information and payment services in a single user experience.
The new functionality enables drivers to locate compatible charging stations, compare operator-specific pricing and pay for charging sessions without requiring a separate charging provider application or membership card.
Navigation and Charging Payments in One Platform
Under the partnership, Cariqa’s payment infrastructure has been integrated into HERE WeGo, allowing users to view pricing from charging point operators connected to Cariqa’s network while planning their journeys.
Once drivers arrive at a participating charging station, they are redirected to Cariqa’s web-based payment interface to complete the charging session.
According to HERE Technologies, the service will initially launch in selected European markets and will be available only at charging stations and operators supported by both the HERE WeGo platform and Cariqa’s network.
Simplifying the Charging Experience
The companies said the integration is designed to eliminate the need for multiple charging apps, RFID cards or separate customer accounts, creating a more streamlined charging experience for electric vehicle drivers.
By combining navigation, charging station discovery, transparent pricing and payment into one workflow, the partnership aims to reduce friction during public charging while making it easier for drivers to compare available options.
New Opportunities for Charging Operators
Cariqa said the partnership also provides charging point operators with greater visibility among drivers actively searching for charging locations.
“For Cariqa CPOs, this partnership opens up a new, high-intent channel to reach drivers at the exact moment they’re deciding where to charge. By bringing Cariqa into HERE WeGo, operators can surface their infrastructure and pricing directly within the navigation experience, without losing control over their commercial strategy,” said Issam Tidjani, CEO and Co-Founder of Cariqa.
The companies added that integrating navigation, pricing and payment into a unified customer journey represents an important step toward a more connected electric mobility ecosystem.
“By connecting navigation, pricing and payment into a unified flow, Cariqa and HERE are helping to build a more integrated and user-centric charging ecosystem. As EV adoption continues to grow, reducing friction at key moments in the charging journey will be critical to improving driver confidence and accelerating uptake,” the companies said in a joint statement.
