GWM has officially unveiled the H10, its new flagship large sport utility vehicle (SUV), marking the debut of the model built on the company’s latest Global One platform.
The plug-in hybrid SUV was introduced on Thursday and is aimed at families seeking a vehicle capable of both urban driving and light off-road use.
Unified Global Strategy
The H10 is the first GWM model to use the same name in both domestic and international markets, reflecting the company’s strategy to streamline branding and strengthen global operations.
Its exterior design draws inspiration from the traditional Chinese fangding, a square ceremonial bronze vessel, resulting in a rugged, boxy appearance.
The front features rectangular headlights, a semi-enclosed grille, roof rails and a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor, while the rear includes an externally mounted spare-wheel interface and a side-opening tailgate.
Two Seating Configurations
The H10 will be available in both five-seat and six-seat configurations.
The five-seat model measures 5,138mm in length, 2,050mm in width and 1,970mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,000mm.
The six-seat version extends overall length to 5,299mm while retaining the same wheelbase.
Customers can choose between pure-electric driving ranges of 176 kilometres and 180 kilometres, depending on the variant.
Hybrid Powertrain and Technology
The H10 is powered by GWM’s Hi4 plug-in hybrid system, combining a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine producing 123kW with an electrified drivetrain.
The vehicle supports an 800-volt electrical architecture and is equipped with a 42.8kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack.
It also offers several intelligent driving and manoeuvring features, including a crab-walk mode designed to improve low-speed mobility in confined spaces.
Standard LiDAR and Driver Assistance
GWM has equipped every H10 variant with its Coffee Pilot 3 advanced driver-assistance system.
LiDAR is fitted as standard across the lineup, enabling navigation-on-autopilot (NOA) assisted driving functions.
New Platform for Premium Models
Unlike many competitors in the large SUV segment that use body-on-frame construction, the H10 adopts a unibody structure based on the Global One platform.
According to GWM, the architecture is intended to deliver improved ride comfort for everyday family use while maintaining sufficient capability for recreational off-road driving.
The Global One platform has already underpinned the company’s move into the premium vehicle segment.
Earlier this year, GWM launched the Wey V9X, the first production model based on the Global One S platform, with a starting price of 349,800 yuan (US$51,420).
