Great Wall Motor (GWM) reported a year-on-year decline in vehicle sales in December, weighed down by weaker performance from its core Haval brand, even as overseas deliveries reached a new record.

The automaker sold 124,020 vehicles in December, down 8.33% from a year earlier and 6.90% from November, according to data released by the company. It marked GWM’s first year-on-year monthly decline since April, as overall market demand softened toward the end of the year.

Haval, GWM’s largest brand by volume, delivered 66,453 vehicles in December, accounting for 53.58% of total sales. That figure fell 20.34% from a year earlier and was down 11.85% from November, marking the brand’s second consecutive month of year-on-year decline.

The Tank brand sold 21,129 vehicles during the month, representing 17.04% of GWM’s total sales. That figure was down 3.43% from a year earlier and 12.45% from the previous month.

Meanwhile, premium brand Wey posted stronger momentum, with sales rising 46.45% year-on-year to 12,899 units, up 1.07% from November.

GWM’s new energy vehicle (NEV) sales reached 38,922 units in December, accounting for 31.38% of total deliveries. The figure marked a 7.91% decline from a year earlier and a 2.97% drop from November.

Overseas sales remained a bright spot, rising 39.05% year-on-year to 57,418 units in December and marking the fifth consecutive month of record overseas deliveries. International sales accounted for 46.30% of the company’s total monthly volume.

For the full year 2025, GWM sold 1,323,672 vehicles, up 7.33% from a year earlier. NEV sales reached 403,653 units, accounting for 30.49% of total deliveries, while overseas sales rose 11.68% year-on-year to 506,066 units, representing 38.23% of annual volume.

By brand, Haval sold 758,554 vehicles in 2025, up 7.41% year-on-year and accounting for 57.31% of total sales. Tank delivered 232,713 units, a 0.74% increase, while Wey posted the strongest growth, with sales surging 86.29% to 101,954 vehicles.
