GWM has officially launched the new-generation Tank 300 SUV in China, introducing a comprehensive update to one of the flagship models in its premium off-road vehicle lineup.
The new Tank 300 is offered in five variants featuring gasoline, diesel and plug-in hybrid powertrains. Prices start at 199,800 yuan (US$29,499) for the gasoline model and 234,800 yuan for the diesel version.
The long-wheelbase Tank 300L Hi4-T plug-in hybrid starts at 249,800 yuan, while the Tank 300L Hi4-Z is priced at 259,800 yuan. Both hybrid models were launched at prices 10,000 yuan below their pre-sale prices announced earlier this month.

Expanded Powertrain Lineup
The Tank 300 remains the core model of GWM’s Tank brand, with the automaker stating that the latest generation incorporates 553 vehicle upgrades, including updates to more than half of its components.
The exterior retains the model’s box-shaped styling and circular headlights, while adopting a revised front grille featuring a black “TANK” wordmark.
Gasoline and diesel models continue to use the standard 2,750-mm wheelbase, while the hybrid Tank 300L extends the wheelbase to 3,010 mm.

The Hi4-T plug-in hybrid combines a non-decoupled four-wheel-drive system with a 130-kW electric motor and a 37.1-kWh battery pack. According to GWM, the model offers a WLTC electric-only driving range of 105 kilometers, a combined driving range of 913 kilometers and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds.
The Hi4-Z version adopts a decoupled four-wheel-drive architecture equipped with a 180-kW front motor, a 200-kW rear motor and a 59.6-kWh battery. The system delivers a combined output of 560 kW, with GWM claiming a WLTC electric-only range of 200 kilometers, a combined driving range of 1,122 kilometers and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds.
Driver Assistance and Interior Updates
The hybrid variants are equipped with GWM’s Coffee Pilot 3 driver assistance system, supported by 27 sensors, including one LiDAR unit, three millimeter-wave radars, 11 high-definition cameras and 12 ultrasonic radars.
According to the company, the system supports Navigate on Autopilot (NOA) functions and a sentry mode. Gasoline and diesel variants use a vision-based driver assistance system.
Inside, the new Tank 300 features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch 2.5K floating central touchscreen running GWM’s Coffee OS 3 infotainment platform with Coffee GPT voice assistant integration.
The vehicle also includes features designed for outdoor use, including vehicle-to-load capability providing up to 6 kW of external power output and a certified towing capacity of 2.5 tonnes.
GWM also offers several factory-installed accessories, including an in-vehicle radio, oxygen generator and satellite communication equipment, as the company continues to expand the Tank brand’s off-road product ecosystem.
