GWM reported a slight decline in vehicle sales in June as strong overseas demand continued to offset persistent weakness in China’s domestic market.
The Chinese automaker sold 108,080 vehicles during the month, down 2.36% from a year earlier but 7.65% higher than in May.
For the first six months of 2026, GWM delivered 583,895 vehicles, representing a 2.48% increase compared with the same period last year.
Overseas Business Continues to Drive Growth
International markets remained GWM’s strongest source of growth in June.
The company sold 60,168 vehicles overseas, an increase of 50.16% from a year earlier and 18.70% higher than the previous month. Overseas markets accounted for 55.67% of total monthly deliveries.
During the first half of the year, overseas sales reached 291,426 vehicles, rising 47.44% year over year and representing nearly half of the company’s global sales.
By contrast, domestic deliveries continued to decline. GWM sold 47,912 vehicles in China during June, down 32.16% from the same month last year and 3.62% below May’s total.
First-half domestic sales fell 21.41% year over year to 292,469 vehicles.
NEV Sales Deliver Mixed Performance
GWM sold 34,659 new energy vehicles (NEVs) in June, a decline of 4.80% compared with a year earlier but an increase of 13.83% from May.
NEVs represented 32.07% of the company’s total monthly deliveries.
In the first half of 2026, cumulative NEV sales totaled 144,634 units, down 9.84% year over year.
Haval Remains Core Brand
The Haval brand continued to account for the largest share of GWM’s sales.
Haval delivered 60,288 vehicles in June, declining 3.38% year over year while increasing 8.67% from the previous month. First-half sales reached 327,290 units, up 1.82% from a year earlier.
The Tank off-road brand remained under pressure, with June deliveries falling 27.16% year over year to 15,713 vehicles. Sales during the first six months of the year declined 10.62% to 92,653 units.
Premium brand Wey also reported weaker monthly performance, selling 7,191 vehicles in June, down 29.48% year over year. Despite the monthly decline, first-half Wey sales increased 29.05% year over year to 44,514 units.
Pickup Trucks Post Monthly Growth
GWM’s pickup truck business continued to show resilience.
The company sold 14,012 pickups during June, increasing 6.05% from a year earlier and 2.82% compared with May.
For the first half of 2026, pickup truck deliveries totaled 92,512 units, representing a 5.44% decline from the same period last year.
