Vietnamese electric ride-hailing company Green SM has launched operations in Kazakhstan, marking its entry into Central Asia and expanding its international presence to six overseas markets.

The company, part of Vingroup, will begin operations in Almaty, Kazakhstan’s largest city, using a fleet of VinFast VF 6 Eco electric SUVs.

First Step Into Central Asia

Green SM said the launch is intended to provide quieter, more comfortable and reliable urban transportation while introducing its standardized ride-hailing service model to the Kazakh market.

The company will also implement training programs for its “Green Drivers,” covering vehicle operations, road safety and customer service to help maintain consistent service quality.

Promotional Launch

To mark its market debut, Green SM is offering a 26% discount on rides booked through its mobile application, with savings capped at KZT 2,626.

Customers can access the service through the Green SM app, now available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Local Partnerships

Green SM also announced strategic partnerships with five organizations in Kazakhstan under its Green Alliance Frontier initiative.

The company said the partners operate across transportation, tourism, technology and service industries but did not disclose their identities.

Long-Term Expansion Plans

Nguyen Quoc Tuan, Global Chief Executive Officer of GSM, said Kazakhstan represents an important growth opportunity for the company.

“Kazakhstan is a market with strong potential, dynamic growth, and rising expectations for modern services. We come to Kazakhstan with respect for the market, a long-term commitment to investment, and a desire to work alongside local partners in developing high-quality mobility solutions that meet the everyday needs of the community.”

Continued International Growth

Kazakhstan marks Green SM’s second international expansion this month.

Earlier in July, the company entered the Indian market with Green SM Limo, deploying VinFast Limo Green electric vehicles across Delhi, Gurugram and Noida. Green SM said it plans to expand its services to additional Indian cities through a phased rollout.

The launch in Kazakhstan further extends Green SM’s strategy of expanding electric ride-hailing services into international markets while supporting wider adoption of battery-electric mobility.
