GMC has released the new GMC Sierra EV Denali electric car to greet the Rivian R1T and Ford F-150 Lightning (20/10). The GMC Sierra EV Denali is officially present as the second electric car of the GMC brand after the Hummer EV.
Not only as GMC’s second electric car, the Sierra EV Denali also enriches General Motors’ Ultium technology portfolio.
“This car is the Denali of all EVs, and a pickup that represents GMC every inch of it,” said Duncan Aldred, Vice President Global Buick and GMC.
“This means this car offers everything in terms of haulability, towing and power while unlocking the potential of a GMC pickup,” added Aldred.
Presenting for the first time in the Edition 1 variant, the GMC Sierra EV Denali offers GMC Denali’s distinctive prowess and capabilities that only electric pickups have. For example, it has an eTrunk on the front which is weather-resistant and has a 120-volt power outlet.
Not to mention the Sierra EV Denali can also be MultiPro Midgate and MultiPro Tailgate which allows owners to transport large items. Then about towing, the GMC Sierra EV Denali offers the ability to pull a trailer weighing 4.3 tons.
This impressive capability is of course supported by a powerful two-wheel drive electric motor drive system.
GMC says the two Sierra EV Denali electric motors are capable of spitting out a combined power of 754 hp and 1,064 Nm of torque in Max Power mode.
With this mode, the Sierra EV Denali is claimed to be able to run 0-96 km/h in 4.5 seconds. Regarding the battery, GMC has not mentioned the battery capacity of the Sierra EV Denali but mentioned the claimed mileage which reaches 644 kilometers.
The GMC Sierra EV Denali battery has an 800 volt architecture that is compatible with a maximum charging capacity of 350 kW.
